Interest Arousal by Haptic Feedback During a Storytelling for Kindergarten Children
Published in Haptics: Science, Technology, Applications. EuroHaptics 2020, 2020
Summary
This study examined whether haptic feedback during storytelling could arouse interest among kindergarten children. The work explored how tactile presentation can be embedded in storytelling as part of an interaction design approach for children.
The study contributes to the Supporting and HCI lines by examining haptic feedback as a way to shape engagement in shared storytelling contexts. It also provides an early basis for later work on tactile presentation during picture-book reading.
Research line
- Supporting: haptic feedback for supporting engagement during interaction
- HCI: tactile interaction design for children
- Storytelling: augmenting storytelling contexts through haptic feedback
